Vau The sixth letter of the Sacred Alphabet.  It literally means nail, has the phonetic value of V, W, O, or U and has a numerical value of 6.  It is further attributed to Taurus and the Tarot Trump The Hierophant.
Venus The daughter-goddess of Jupiter; the Roman goddess of love and beauty.  The second planet from the Sun, named after the Roman goddess of Love, her Greek counterpart being Aphrodite.  Astrologically, Venus rules Taurus and Libra.  Has an esoteric relationship with Christ (the "morning star") and with Lucifer (the "Son of Dawn" from Isaiah).

Visualisation This is the process of forming positive thoughts as a means of creating wellbeing.  Uses of visualisation in healing originated through a religious and/or mystical tradition, later spreading through the thoughts of the mystery schools including the Hermetic, Kabbalists, the Rosicrucians, and Gnostic Christians.
Vodun See Voodoo below.
Voodoo The term Voodoo is applied to those branches of the West African Fon-Ewe people of Benin (formerly the Kingdom of Dahomey), where Vodun (Voodoo) is now the national religion of more than 7 million people.  The word Vodun translates into 'spirit'.  Since crossing on slave ships from Dahomey to Cuba and Brazil, we now find 'Voodoo' or 'Vadium' in Haiti, also known as Hoodoo in Mississippi and New Orleans.
